Hotpoint/Indesit Product Recall

Whirlpool/Hotpoint/Indesit Product Recall

This recall affects machines built more than 5 years ago. It has been established that the door locking system can overheat creating the possibility of fire. Whirlpool has stated that this problem was identified by their safety team. Whirlpool suggests that owners can still use their machines if it is one affected on the basis of using only the cold wash cycle at 20 degrees or less. This will dramatically reduce the risk of fire as the heating element will not be activated which is the root of the problem. Jeff Noel, Vice President of Whirlpool said" We know this will cause some concern. We especially understand that the washing machine is so important to family life, and for that, we apologise." More engineers are being recruited and ther delivery and collection capability is being stepped up to cope .
