Carters is a independent domestic appliance retailer based in Sussex. Our Horsham Store approaching 2000sq ft in size was established in 1994 after the jobcentre was relocated. It is so easy to find being in the heart of town and just twenty yards from the entrance to Swan Walk. A large number of people walk past our store in Medwin Walk which is a pedestrian walkway when visiting the busy town centre. Our store in Medwin Walk has a large shop window always crammed with stock offering customers a large range of electric and gas appliances at very competitive prices. Where do I find your store?

Visitors to Horsham will usually discover the Carfax considered by many to the heart of the town. Many roads lead from this circular area. The northern road now pedestrianised is Medwin Walk. Customers are encouraged to view the fabulous Swan Walk centre housing many national stores such as Boots, Marks & Spencers Hinds and Wilkinsons. We feel that the most important of these supporting shops in Horsham is one not on this list but based just outside the Centre a few yards further north. You can see our shop from the Carfax entrance/exit to Swan Walk. We are just half way up this little road with Worthing Bed Shop oat the end.. We are in fact adjacent to Boots the Chemist which is easily found in town. 


 Does Carters deliver for free to Horsham and the surrounding area?

Yes! We deliver all items at no charge to any BN or RH postcode which is a large area so all addresses around Horsham will not be charged as long as the total invoice whether one item or more comes to over £150 with us. Remember that we are able to deliver any item to any mainland UK address at a competitive fee. Ask us about GU postcodes as well as most can be included in the free of charge service.

Is all stock kept at your Horsham shop?

As most of the items we sell are large and bulky w have needed to purchase a seperate warehouse situated in Storrington just a few miles to the south of Horsham. This 40,000sq ft building allows us to stock a large number of items ready to be despatched to our customers without the delay of waiting for stock to be ordered and delivered.  

I recently bought a Dishwasher from your Horsham Carters Store but it developed a fault after a few months. Please explain what you can do to help me.

We are main agents for most items we sell. This allows us to offer the very best protection if a problem develops. The manufacturer will invariably act on our behalf for the agreed time of cover varying from one to ten years. They after all should be able to resolve problems with an appliance that they designed and built.  After this time we can offer extended warranties backed by Retra or others by UK Warranties. We do find however that a number of apparent faults can be quickly resolved through discussing the problem either face to face or on the phone. Remember that new appliancers are invariably more efficient than previous models but ne configured in a manner that may need explanation.  

Do I need to assist or does your delivery team install the new appliance and remove my old machine?

Our delivery crews are well trained and can be left to commission your machine to allow you many years of trouble free use. Our normal crew specialise in freestanding appliances but we do have a built in division that can install the more difficult integrated appliances that traditionally fit inside kitchen units giving a seamless finish.There is a subsidised charge to dispose of your old appliance but be assured that your old machine will be recycled in the most efficient manner. We care about our environment.  

I am concerned that your price you've charged may be higher than other places in town and the surrounding area such as Dorking and Reigate.  Do you operate a price match policy?

Yes we are keen to offer customers a price match pledge on the day of sale.

  • We believe our prices are very low but will attempt to match any High Street Store in Sussex on the day of sale, like for like including delivery, on every single item we sell. We have pride in being loyal to our customers as they are to us
  • The product must in stock at the competitors store and be a current model capable of being purchased by ourselves from our normal sources. The only possible exceptions is when the appliance is an ex demonstration or discontinued model. 
  • We must be given sufficient information to enable us to check the price at the competitors store.
  • In any situation however we will always try our best to give the very best price even in a non like for like basis.


Do the staff at your Horsham store know what is the best washing machine for my needs? My present machine was purchased some time ago and there are so many new features to consider.
